If you look in the GA-P35-DS3R manual on page 8, the IDE interface is
provided by the Gigabyte SATA2 controller, which is, in reality, the
JMicron JMB363 chip <http://www.jmicron.com.tw/Product_JMB363.htm>.
It's supposed to be compatible with the standard southbridge IDE
interface, meaning that no special driver is needed for it to work.

Set the mode of the GIGABYTE SATA2 interface to IDE in BIOS setup.
Then install the motherboard_driver_sata_gb_sata2raid driver,
selecting the IDE driver. Set the mode back to AHCI.
