Hi, after reading the responses below, I'm sad to hear many of the replies.
Yes, a final resolve would be to Re-Format and Re-install (takes a long time,
especially if ya don't have some sort of backup for your programs). However,
in contrary to what "Bruce" said about Vista not having a "Repair Tool", this

I've been working with Windows since version 3.11 came out. I've used about
all of them (95,98,2K,XP,XP-Pro 32+64, Media-Ctr, and now Vista-32).
I run "Bit-Defender " security (bitdefender.com). It's has a Reg-Cleaner
that works great in eliminating Orphaned registry entries and Optimizing the
Registry File Unlike Norton/Symantec, it will Unistall itself Clean so
you can install another A/V package if you like
