Ok, I am not new to computers (first experience was with punch cards), just to Vista.
I tried most other venues before coming here, google, etc.

This is on a HP TX2000 series tablet PC and I suspect may be HP crap. If I could figure out what program was causing this message, well I guess I wouldn't have come in here, but I certainly would disable it and see what happened.

I was hoping that somebody would know the answer based on the program/service name and they had had the exact same experience.

I stated I wished you could post a screenshot meaning directly from the forum as is possible in many others.

but in honor of your opinion, I have renamed the SMINST directory and will see if anything happens or stops happening
