Ok.
Is the SMINST directory known to anyone as something?
I renamed it hoping that any reference to it during bootup would fail, because it would not be able to find it.

I would be very happy to just stop getting the errors. I have been getting them a lot less than I used to, I mean before the directory rename. I thought they were gone, but started up again, which led me to come here.
