I have an hp pavilion dv5-1002nr notebook pc and have run into the exact same issue. Funny thing is that I have had the notebook pc for less than two days ... I contacted HP support and their support staff thinks I have a virus ... she was nice enough to even point me to the SMINST\%Launcher reference on SpyBot's website.

I have scanned this notebook pc for viruses (AVG-8) and malware (SbyBot-152 and Ad Aware2008) and find nothing ... The digital signatures all look legit too (SoftThinks) ...

I was able to make the problem "go away" by renaming both the BLService.exe and BLauncher.exe files to BLService._exe and BLauncher._exe. I have a second dv5-1002nr still in the box that I'm getting ready to load up this week ... I'm thinking to just copy both files to the other notebook and see if the problem goes away ...
