HP says Virus?? wow, I swear those files came on the TX2510. After I tracked the registry value down and now know the name of the service 'recovery service for windows' I disabled its loading in selective startup and no longer get the interruptions, however, I did have one pretty hard crash/lockup since doing that. Hoping it was entirely unrelated.
