How to see folder a Personal Library is connected to? A couple of months ago I set up a Personal Library that I am sharing with two
computers on my LAN. Everything seemed to be working OK.
I would like to find out if there is a way to modify the way FS synchs the
files between the two PCs. I would like to have, for lack of a better term,
a "one way" syncing feature.
For example, computer "A" is my music server. It has gigabytes of music
I've ripped over the years from my music CDs. But it's stored away in my
entertainment center and I prefer to administer it remotely from computer "B".
I would like to be able to rip a CD on computer "B" and then have FS copy
the new files to computer "A" as soon as both are on the network. However, I
DO NOT want a complete copy of my music on BOTH PCs. Once FS has copied the
music from "B" to "A", then I would prefer to delete it from "B" to free up
the space. I can either do this manually, or if FS could do it that would
be great.
In the "Personal Libraries" feature, I cannot find any option to tinker with
the "contributor permissions" (like there is for regular Shared Libraries).
Apparently both computer have to have full copies of the shared library.
Anybody have any suggestions?
Right now I'm going to try tinkering with a small shared library for making
the transfers, and then a batch job on the music server to move the files to
the desired destination, outside of Foldershare's control. But it would be
nice if I didn't have to resort to cludgy work-arounds. |
