Re: 0.0.0.0 default gateway problem I've seen this one on a few machines, in fact one of mine does it intermittently.
An ipconfig/all shows it to have the gateway address of the router AS WELL as the 0.0.0.0 entry
Still researching the cause but I have found you can right-click "diagnose" the Local area connection that has the problem and then choose "Reset the network adapter .... " it will remove the 0.0.0.0 entry and leave you with the valid GW address again.
