actually I discoverd the problem after submiting this post. essentially I have a bridge at my house that my laptop connects to. that bridge was setus to use 450 ports and timeout connections at 500s changed the setting to 15000 sec and 4000 ports and all is well now. there may be a little problem with the gateway but I think it is a range issue with the bridge and the host router |
