Re: Post Your Overclock Results.

1.6 volts kills Conroes.

Don't be fooled by what cpuid says. If you've set 1.6 volts in the bios, it's getting close to 1.6 volts. Cpuid shows fewer volts because after 1.5 volts its reporting becomes inaccurate. If you keep doing what you're doing, giving the cpu to someone else isn't doing them any favors. What benefit is a chip that's been abused to such a degree that it could, and just might, fail at any time?

You do know that past a certain point, more voltage actually reduces a Conroe's ability to OC? That's probably why your results are so poor? Yours is the lowest Conroe OC I've ever seen. My brother in law has an Allendale E4200 clocked higher than yours, 3.6GHz, and he's doing it on 1.35 volts. Those 6400's normally do ~3.5GHz-3.6GHz in the 1.3-1.4 range.

Perhaps instead of cranking as much voltage as you possibly can into the core thinking these chips will react the same way AMD chips used to, you could read up some and find out what you're doing? Cause right now, it seems like you're taking the "more voltage willy-nilly" approach... and it's doing you no favors either.
