Re: VISTA WINDOWS MAIL ERROR MESSAGE No in that post there are instructions to fix the error as i have copied and pasted below.
1. Click "Start."
2. Select "Run" and type "cmd" (for Windows NT/2000/XP) or "command" (for Windows 95/98/ME).
3. Type "telnet," followed by your mail server (i.e. mail.yourdomain.com), followed by a space and then the number "25" (i.e. telnet mail.yourdomain.com 25) and hit "Enter."
4. If you are able to connect to the email server, you should see "220 lbsmtp1.mc1.stabletransit.com ESMTP lbsmtp1.mc1.stabletransit.com (Debian/GNU)." If you are still having issues and you are able to see this message, you can also check your firewall settings to ensure that it is not blocking port 25 access.
5. If you are not able to connect using telnet, or do not see the above message, please contact your ISP for additional assistance. They should be able to provide you with an alternative outgoing mail server to use. You should then be able to send email properly via your ISP's outgoing mail server. Many ISP's do this to prevent spam from originating in their networks or to thwart the spread of viruses. |
