Honestly it sounds like WiMP was simply trying to asses the viability of the device as a 3rd party music device, as can be set in WiMP settings, and at that point it would crash for whatever reason.
Makes sense also that the reinstall fixed it as whatever DLL that WiMP was calling when it started scanning your UFDs was crashing it was replaced / fixed. |
