Re: Lost all mails + contacts in Windows Live Mail

AVG is considered quite compatible with WLMail (I use it) as long as the e-mail scanning and plug-in components are not installed. If you have them installed, I suggest that you uninstall AVG, then re-install it using the custom install option, without the e-mail scanning and plug-in components.

The e-mail scanner is not required because any e-mail virus that would have been detected by the e-mail scanner, would be detected by the resident scanner when the virus tries to run. See http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm for more information on this.

The viruses you discovered might have had something to do with it. Hard to say without researching those particular viruses, and knowing whether they were actually executed or not.

If so, you would have one set of contacts for when you do not sign in, and another for when you do sign in. So check your contacts for both scenarios. To sign out: Tools->Options...->Connection [tab]->Connection to Windows Live Services [section]->Stop signing in [button].
