Thank you.
In this case, the notification of problem persists and
never goes away, though the computer is connected and
properly functioning. It's just some sort of internal
communication error, I suppose, where the left hand
doesn't talk to the right.

Perhaps this is just one of those mysteries not meant to
be solved...
