assume you are going into CMD prompt, Because of the way administrators work in vista make sure you manually elevate to admin mode (right click on CMD.EXE or Shortcut and choose "Run as Administrator") otherwise the OS will treat you as a standard user. You can confirm that you are at the right level as the title bar will show "administrator"
