I have a problem, which is driving me crazy!

Earlier today i was re-installing Vista on my desktop cause it had some boot issues (BOOTMGR was missing, and the repair on the vista disk didn't help) so i decided to install vista from the beginning again.
so i changed my boot settings in the BIOS so it boots on CD/DVD and choose to install Vista, then i format ALL the partitions on my harddisk and then install Vista on the same partition as before. then it starts to install and everything looks fine until it suddenly stops and says something about some missing install files. it ask's me to make the install files available or quit the installation.

what am i doing wrong? - and what should i do to make it work?

ALL advice is very welcome!

thanks in advance

First off...Boot issues....Did you add another Hard Drive? Removable Storage? Card Reader, Etc? I used to have issues when my card reader was attached since it assinged new driver letters and Windows got confused where the original HDD was.

if you say ALL paritions...Did you try creating just ONE partition then installing? I'm not sure if you've broken your HDD up or are talking about multiple HDD's
i only have 1 HDD with 3 partitions on it. the boot issue where because windows was missing the BOOTMGR file, and normal repair from the vista DVD didn't work as said before.
