Re: IE7 pegging CPU monitor I went to the Java site again and while I saw references to both JRE and JVM when clicking the downloads link the only option I got was to ensure that I had the proper version of Java installed. This lead me to the help menu which had a section for problems with Pogo which prompted me to check Pogos help file which in turn lead me to a nifty program they have to help you resolve problems. With the programs help I once again dumped my browser cache and also dumped my java cache and a few other things. So far things are a bit better. After a reboot my CPU monitor is running between 35% and spiking only as high as 65% while playing Pogo. While this is still much higher than it ever has before in the past it is an improvement. Whether or not the...... never mind. My CPU monitor just spiked to 100% again. Now I am running between 55% and 85% and it appears it just keeps getting higher each time with the bottom going up as time goes on. Geezus.... this is a nightmare.
I have downloaded the latest Windows update and am about to shut everything down to install Vista SP1 so we'll see if that makes any difference. I'm seriously getting frustrated here. I am starting to believe now that my recent Java upgrade is the culprit. Java had upgraded right about the time my CPU started spiking so high and staying spiked while playing on Pogo. Is there a way to uninstall the latest Java update and go back to the previous version? Perhaps my system configuration doesn't care for the latest Java upgrade?
I will wait until SP1 is installed and see what occurs after that. Hopefully it will solve more issues than it creates....
Wish me luck.
