Where did you get this computer with Vista pre-installed? Because it seems
to me that you got some kind of a jacked-up installation of Vista installed
on the computer. There is no way WMP should be starting at start-up, unless
that install person did it, just like you have an auto login that should
have never happened.
If you have a whole lot of issues with Vista, and you do seem to be having a
whole lot of issues, then you need to format the HD and take the Recover
DVD(s), if you got them from the computer manufacturer or you created them
as the very first thing you should have done when you got the computer with
Vista pre-installed, and you should reinstall the O/S.
Of course, you would have to go back to the computer manufacture's Web site
to download drivers and other software that pertains to the make and model
of the O/S and install them too.
An install can go wrong and can be jacked-up.
