Brink, I've just tried to remove CCleaner from the startup program list by going through regedit, but the program is not actually included!! Don't quite understand what's happening here. CCleaner definitely TRIES to run on startup, but I have to respond to the UAC.
Have you tried,
Start, type msconfig press enter under the start up programs tab
If it is here just remove the tick.
or
Start, all programs, startup
just remove it if it is in this folder
