I gave aero shake and snap a go.
Aero shake from gawker didn't like that it removed all of my gadgets from the desktop. Don't really have much use for it myself. When I rebooted the computer, it dissappeared. Not in programs and features or anything. Don't know why. So went to lifehaker and they have version 1.3 which does not remove my gadgets. Better.
Aero Snap when I first downloaded and installed, it didn't work very well. Then I ran windows update and had to reboot. Now it works great. Noticed that the maximized window, while it covers almost the entire screen, is not actually quite maximized and the glass effect in the title bar remains in effect. Snapping left and right with two different windows gives two side by side windows. Very cool and if you do this kind of thing much, very useful.
