I have encountered this on 4 different Machines now. In one case I was
able to do a system restore after booting from the Vista CD. In all
other cases, only a clean install worked. Safe mode boot would only get
as far as crcdisk.sys. Don't know if this is a bad update or what.
First PC it happened to was one of 3 identical PC's and only the one was
affected. So it's somewhat random but is affecting a high number of
Vista machines.
