Firefox and Counter-Strike dont even use half-open connections, they use HTTP and UDP connections
Its like I said, your p2p client is either configured wrong or your router/modem just cant handle the amount of connections your p2p client creates and causes the others connections to timeout and since you said Firefox and Counter-strike didn't work until you used that patch then just says its your router/modem that cant handle the amount of connections your p2p client uses
