I just had a look at my latest OEConfig file that dictates the
parameters used by 'autodiscovery' for setting up new accounts.
There are four entries for gmail: one each POP3 and IMAP for both
gmail.com and googlemail.com. For three of them, the smtp port is
specified as 465; for a gmail.com POP3 account, it is specified as
25. There are also instructions as to how to set up the account at
the gmail end. If port 25 doesn't work, then somebody goofed when he
edited the config file, but I'm pretty sure that if you follow
gmail's instructions, they will tell you that it should be 465. I've
appended the entries for interest's sake - they might vary from
market to market.
