Re: Windows Live Sync is Live!

OK - to be fair, I now I have WLS up and running.

VISTA: The install hang problem persisted, so I cancelled, restarted, and on restart I tried again this time successfully installed.

MAC: With my MBP laptop I had different issues - the old version of FS didn't uninstall so at one point I had both icons there and both programs running which was a bit weird, but I uninstalled FS manually, and they are now synching as before.

BOTH: Only disconcerting thing / question I have is that both arrows on the Live Sync icon are permanently blue on my Vista machine, implying it is transferring / using bandwidth non-stop, while the two arrows on the Mac are permanently greyed out implying it is not connected. Or at least that was the convention with the old FS (grey vs colour = connected vs not).

I guess this is a small point compared to the migration issues I had earlier, and now it is synching I can't complain. or at least I can complain, but I am greatly relieved it is working again.

phew

and today, surprise surprise, I try the migration and it doesn't work.

I downloaded the windowslivesync file - and it hung saying it was installing. didn't respond to cancel, had to ctrl-alt-del to close it out. . . .

what do we do now?

BTW - I am installling on a brand new plain-vanilla Dell with Vista Busines, no funny business / major legacy issues etc. if it doesn't work for me, then who DOES it work for?
