Now that you have your virtual machine set up and working the way you want
it, the best piece of advice I can give you is to treat it EXACTLY THE SAME
as a physical machine. As far as the software installed on it (both OS and
applications) is concerned, there is no difference... XP hasn't the
slightest notion that it's running on a virtual machine - it has no need
whatsoever to know this - nor will any application software that you install
on it...
Henceforth, almost every question you will ever have about virtual machines
can be answered with "how would I do this on a physical machine?" So, if you
you were going to install a software program on a physical machine running
XP, where would you install it? Wherever it is, it will be the same on a
virtual machine...
