Re: Password/username incorrect on boot up? Any account can tweak: Those with administrator privileges do not have to type PW on prompter. Your built in Adm. is accessible to you only in safe mode. You do not want to have to boot in safe mode just to have Adm. powers...that's why you created one that you can access in regular boot, and which you can easily switch to and fro with the standard user.
Standard user is for non-tweaking computing because it is safer to navigate the internet with an account that is not empowered with adm. privs...so that interceptors/intruders (hijackers and malwares )would not inherit such privs. In regular surfing that may need one or two tweakings now and then, just stay with standard user and just type in the adm. PW when UAC nags, otherwise switch to adm. user for heavy tweakings to avoid being nagged by UAC.
Use no more than 4 digit pw for easy compliance with the nag.
I use any adm. user in safe mode for heavy major tweakings where laborious tweakings seem to run faster...when feasible. Some cannot be done in safe mode.
And since you have created an Adm. user, remove password from the built in guy so you won't have to remember too many PW's.. |
