Some background info
If anybody is interested in the background, the reason why I
wrote the Windows Network Problem Solver is that, for each set
of symptoms, and there are very many possible combinations,
there is a number of always different potential causes that are
very difficult to diagnose in a newsgroup discussion.
The Windows Network Problem Solver works by filling in a form,
then a Javascript program selects and displays all possible
causes. The sheer amount of unfiltered and even filtered
information makes it unlikely that any newsgroup discussion,
except perhaps a very long one, can achieve this for any but the
few most likely causes.
The downside is that writing such a page requires a considerable
effort, and it takes a lot of enthusiasm to do that without
getting paid for it. (:-)
