wonder why that recommended update didn't work?
also in "view updates" that realtek update showed, but in "uninstall updates" it did not show so I could not uninstall it there.
hmm, anyone else use that download?
also just got a bsod while using windows updates. the system log showed error - computer shut down unexpectedly, but gave no reason lol. it was evidently as surprised as me.

Hi msongs,
As John said windows updates for drivers are not necessarily good. Your Motherboard manufacturer will normally have better ones
If you are having problems because of the driver, Go to Device Manager, right click on your your audio device, select properties, select the Driver tab, and then click on Roll Back Driver. This will reinstall the last driver.
If you want to uninstall the Realtek software Go to Control Panel , Programs. You can uninstall it here.
The Realtek software is unlikely to be the problem but you might want to uninstall it to be sure. You will still be able to adjust the sound functions without it using windows menus.
In answer to your other question if anyone else has used this download. Due to the many types of Hardware/Software other people will have different experiences to you, so the question is sort of not worth asking.
I hope this helps
