1. Right click on the browser icon
2. Select properties
3. Go to the compatibility tab
4. Check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
5. Make sure it says "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" in the drop down list.

This solution will allow you to see the normal quicktime timeline and volume options, etc. when watching a quicktime video, but from my experience the moment a quicktime video loads in the browser, your vista aero scheme will change to vista basic while the browser is open. Once you close your browser, the scheme will change back to vista aero.
