Yes of course that was when new hardware was detected and the generic drivers were installed.
As I said , the drivers on the link you kindly found for usnavy might work on Vista - they might even provide extra functions.
When I suggested he uninstall those drivers, obviously I was referring to the drivers he already had installed - not the ones you suggested he try.
