Well.. if you have the dvd , you should be able to do so yes... if not , there is a site.. something like neolite or something? which has recovery images you can download and burn to get a recovery environment. Your topic title though is misleading to your question. Regarding that.. I been pondering myself if I should make a recovery image from a base installation.. and in time if I run a new install... I coould (with programs on a different partition) , just patch it with a registry backup (which one has to schedule twice a day or so to be safe) and well... technically speaking...one could have some luck with it.
