Hi Vortexx...Glad I ran across your post as I have a similar prob. with my new HP x64 M/C.
I have the HP Mediasmart TV which has the built in Wi-Fi extender that connects wirelessly to a Router on the PC... It all ran perfectly with my HP x32 M/C. Both are running Vista Home Premium SP-1.
When I changed over to my new PC, I started setting it up similar to how you did.
I downloaded all the updates suggested and required by HP, then after getting the eight digit code from the TV I typed it into the PC screen when it asked for it.
It went as far as the screen shot you showed, but when it got to setting up the shared folders, it showed an error.
( An error was encountered while configuring your PC for use with the Extender ) try again... of course the same thing happens if you do.
I can share the media ok by pressing the Media on the remote, but it will not connect to the Computers Media Centre.
I have been in contact with HP several times over this, but the problem is whether it's the TV dept. or the PC dept. Each side wants to slag it off to the other side.
My last contact was with the TV dept. Now I don't even hear from them.
I'm really p-ode with them but don't know what to do.
