i'm looking for information/guidance to set up the following scenario. as
i've tried to explain this to others, i've found that it causes confusion,
even though i think the concepts are pretty basic or vanilla. i'm sure the
fault lies with me and my inability to convey the idea clearly. so... i
welcome your input.

we have a DR site. specifically, a few 2k3 R2 servers and network appiances
(vpn concentrator, firewall) sitting in a rack with a DR provider. all
working fine.

we used to have office space at the DR site where i kept 10 pcs that could
access the data on the DR network. used to. not any more. cost cutting in the
new economy.

so since we've lost the actual DR office space, i've been looking to create
those desktops virtually. that is, so that a remote user could connect to the
vpn concentrator at the DR site, then get handed a virtual xp desktop. i
assume that that virtual desktop would be hosted by some sort of server
designed specifically for that purpose.

i don't need to perform server consolidation. i'm just looking for an
application to give remote users virtual desktops when the connect.

if i've posted in the wrong group, please forgive me and just point me in
the right direction.
