System won't shutdown completely
My system is a recent build, and it was running flawlessly, but it just developed this problem 2 days ago. The system won’t shut down completely. It goes through the shutdown sequence to the point where the monitor and HD turn off – and that’s it – the fans keep running (Including the video card fan) and the power LED is lit. The only way I can shutdown is to hold the power switch for about 4 sec. I googled this problem and got several hits, including this forum, but I can’t find a solution. Several posts remarked that it sounds like a driver issue, so I uninstalled the software and drivers for my Dell printer and my Epson printer, which were the only drivers I’ve installed in the last week. They are Vista ready drivers and the problem didn’t start until a couple of days after I installed them. I’ve checked the power settings and advanced power settings and they are correct.
I don’t know if it an OS problem, a driver problem or a hardware problem. Anybody have a clue? |
