Hi,
Yes , just to confirm what Shawn said - if you turn off System Restore - you will lose the restore points.
If you Disable and Stop the Volume Shadow Copy service instead - the restore points will still be there.
They will stay there for the default time - which I believe is 90 days. Shawn will be able to tell you how to extend that if needed.
Of course, you have to restart it again to create another point , or to do a system restore.
