Hi Dave,

3. Restart DWM with net stop uxsms followed by net start uxsms at command prompt.

It just means to open a command prompt window and type the commands in bold to Stop and Start the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager (DWM) service. You can instead, logoff and logon, or restart the computer for the same affect as this step 3.

If all you want to do is to adjust the transparency, you can just change the "Color Intensity" levels in step 3 of this tutorial to how you like it. For what you want, just slide it a bit more to the left.
