Vista Tutorial - watching dvd / movies in vista

while watching movies the vid seems like it flickers. (only while i run
vista) i have wmp 11 installed on both xp and vista also there seems to be a
strange yellow bar in the center of the screen or sometimes at the
bottom.(again only while i run vista)
current sys is sony viao p4 3.0ghz 1.5gb ram 128mb vid ram w/intel onboard
chipset

update!!! cant watch dvd movies at all locks up vista pc cillin says it is
the driver i assume its talkin about the dvd driver
update today ie just quit working after going to a java site (one the uses
java)
