| | How do I use toolbox controls in VS2005 Orcas? I've got Windows SDK, Orcas and .NET Framework 3.0 installed (all downloaded today - 3 Oct 2006, so Sept CTP), and it all seems to be working fine. I've got a Hello World application running using XAMLPad (thanks to a third party site - MSDN is no help at all - as usual it's all theory and sales pitch and no practical examples). Intellisense works fine in VS2005. What is puzzling me is how to use the VS2005 toolbox with the fancy new XAML controls. I have all the new controls available, but it seems I am only able to drag a single control onto the designer area. If I drag some sort of container control, I then can't drag anything else. Double clicking seems to work better than dragging, but this replaces the last control I added. Also, why does the toolbar become unavailable when I'm in the code pane? It works with standard .NET controls. Is this functionality complete? It doesn't appear so when compared to drag and drop of controls in standard Visual Studio application. Any light which can be shed on this will be much appreciated. |
