RE: MediaElement - app crashes when MediaElement is used

I want to briefly explain why people are seeing this issue.

There was a problem with how the Beta 1 version of avalon.msi removed the reference to evr.dll and dxva2.dll (two dlls that are required to do media playback in WPF) when it uninstalled. The result of this, unfortunately, is that subsequent installs of wpf.msi do NOT write in the new, correct, version of evr.dll or dxva2.dll. As a result, they must be manually cleaned up.

This shouldn't be a problem when applications are eventually deployed, because, presumably, your customers didn't install Avalon Beta 1.

Thanks

Mark Lawrence

Hey Chris,

A few of us had a similiar problem a little over a month ago and were able
