WPF Apps only renders a black screen?!

Hi everyone,

I know that alot of people are having the same problem, when it comes to
developing WPF (Avalon) applications in VS 2005. The problem is that the
window is always rendered black, so I cannot see any content. It has happened
though, one in a hundred, that the windows renders fine, so that I can
actually see the WPF controls. The WPF designer in VS 2005 works fine though?!

I´m currently using the latest january CTP, I´ve tried the november and
december versions also, but the same problem occurs in them all. I have tried
it on three different computers and it doesn't work on any of them. XamlPad
is also behaving strangely, it works the first time (most often anyway), but
then it also renders black.

I think it's strange that Microsoft cannot comment about this and help us out!

Hi,

Even I am also experiencing same problem with WinFX DEC 2005 and Jan 2006
CTPs. I am getting a black screen when tried to run a WMV files using
<MediaElement> in XAML.

Sample XAML Code:

<DockPanel Name="DockPanel1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.
com/winfx/avalon/2005" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.
com/winfx/xaml/2005">
<MediaElement Height="350" Source="C:\MediaFiles\Sample.wmv" Width="200"

</DockPanel>


Please provide us some solution in order to solve this issue.

In the Sparkle release notes they state there are known issues with running
WPF on processors older than a P4 or on AMD processors. Does either apply?
Otherwise the only suggestion I have seen is to make sure you have the
newest drivers. Also there are 2 DLLs that some users found to have the
wrong version. There should be threads on the WPF forms that mention them,
I am afraid I do not remember the details as I do not have the problem.
