| | RE: XAML Visual Designer Have you tried Expression Interactive Designer? There's also a community on this site for it. You can get EID from http://www.microsoft.com/products/ex...ree_trial.aspx. --JMF "-Adam.D" wrote: > Will Avalon have a Visual Designer (like the one for Windows Forms)?? > > I know that Mobiform Aurora is an external XAML designer that will > accomplish the task, but will there be [an internal] one included with Avalon? > > > -Adam.D |

| | Re: XAML Visual Designer Adam, Yes it is going to be and at the moment it goes by code name Cider. The early previrew of cider is going to be available in the October CTP of Fidalgo. Fidalgo is yet another code name for set of WPF templates + Cider that can be installed in VS2005. October CTP is going to be the last CTP where Cider is released as add-on to VS2005 the next release will be in the VS Orcas beta (or CTP). According to http://blogs.msdn.com/jgalasyn/archi...f-fidalgo.aspx Fidalgo CTP will be available when Windows Vista RTM goes out. The Vista RTM is scheduled for 17th of November, which is this Friday. In addition to Visual Studio Cider, Microsoft are going to release a separate product as part of the Microsoft Expression family - Microsoft Interactive Designer, which is a tool for interactivly creating UI for WPF application. This application mostly targets the needs of graphic designers, but it may come in handy for software developers too. -- HTH Stoitcho Goutsev (100) "Janet Fisher" <JanetFisher@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:BEBE8717-59F4-4013-B39F-7EC58039A918@microsoft.com... > Have you tried Expression Interactive Designer? Why "is going"? ;-) The November CTP (which is the Final for the Visual Studio 2005 extensions) were already released last week, and Cider CTP has been available for quite some time before that (just right-click on a XAML file and choose "Open with / Cider". The November CTP of Fidalgo is also matching the released version of ..NET 3.0, also released last week. | | Re: XAML Visual Designer Laurent, Yes you are right. My information was based on the blog I posted and didn't actually know that it has been released already.
