| | Have I installed incorrectly? I installed .NET 3 + the various other links referred to at the bottom of the same page.... 1) Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 CTP Extensions for .NET Framework 3.0 (WCF & WPF) 2) Microsoft Windows SDK for .NET Framework 3.0 3) Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Extensions for Windows WorkFlow Foundation I start a new Windows Application (WPF) and see an app with a new form. When I add a menu I get a control that is not draw at all, it is just a resizable + repositional rectangle. Clicking the "Items" property lets me add multiple "System.Object" items. Adding a TabControl looks a little bit better, but there is no right-click context menu for adding pages, adding "Items" again adds System.Object which I cannot edit. Finally the properties of the controls all look a bit odd. Instead of a Font property with an editor I have a list of individual items with no special editor support FontFamily, FontSize, FontStretch, FontWeight In the "Layout" category I have properties like this Grid.Column, Gird.ColumnSpan, Grid.Row, Grid.RowSpan Basically it all looks a bit screwed up, I have the same behaviour on two PCs. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Thanks Pete |

| | Re: Have I installed incorrectly? Hi Peter, The "Cider" extensions for Visual Studio are still in early beta so you can't really do much in the designer yet. Visual Studio is useful for editing the raw XAML though. The Expression suite has a XAML designer which is a little bit farther along in development (although still in beta) so you might have better luck using that. I personally have grown accustomed to just writing the XAML code myself in VS without the use of a designer. It's not that bad once you get the hang of what objects do what. | | Re: Have I installed incorrectly? Oh right. I didn't realise it was in such an early stage. I think I'll wait a while then. Thanks for the info! -- Pete Blessed are the geek, for they shall public class GeekEarth : Earth {} ==== Audio compression components, DIB graphics controls, ECO extensions, FastStrings http://www.droopyeyes.com ==== |
