Rewriing Microsoft Visio using WPF

..NETters,

We are working on an engineering drawing application. Many features are
similar to that of Visio. There will be a drawing pad where the user
can create different shapes. There will be a ruler along the borders of
the drawing pad for precise drawing.

The back end engine is complete. Now we are contemplating on using .NET
3.0 WPF for the front end. It appears there are two document models
that Microsoft is promoting:

1. Fixed document framework.
2. XPS document framework

If you were to rewrite Visio like application, which one would you use?

Thank you in advance for enlightening me.

Pradeep

Define what you mean by "Fixed document".

XPS isnt really something used in applications. Its a package format -
think of XPS kind of like PDF. It something you might output too.

Hello,
XPS isn't targeting what you want. If you want my opinion on what tipe
of document to chose?
XAML.

All the best,
Andrei Iacob.
