| | Validation without binding Can you use a validator class without binding, expressing the default content as a literal? Something like: <TextBox HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Center" x:Name="myText" TextWrapping="Wrap" Width="80"> <TextBox.Text> <Binding> <Binding.ValidationRules> <local:NumRule Min="1" Max="1000" /> </Binding.ValidationRules> </Binding> </TextBox.Text> </TextBox> (this doesn't run, needs Bind Path="someproperty"). How would I specify the default value? Thanks, John |

| | Re: Validation without binding I don't think you can apply validations without a full binding because the data is validated as part of the transfer. However, you can bind it to some internal object that you don't care about - something like this: <TextBox> <TextBox.Resources><TextBlock x:Key="tb" /></TextBox.Resources> <TextBox.Text> <Binding Source="{StaticResource tb}" Path="Text"> <Binding.ValidationRules> <local:NumRule Min="1" Max="1000" /> </Binding.ValidationRules> </Binding> </TextBox.Text> </TextBox> Hope that helps, Mark Smith http://www.julmar.com/blog/mark |
