| | Migration blues Well no real blues yet ![]() I have just migrated my code from the jan 2006 (which is dec 2005) CTP to the feb CTP. I used the cool migration tool that updates namespace mapping and stuff but alas, does not fix namespaces that are not mapped... (cool tool: http://www.longhornblogs.com/rrelyea...lMigrator.aspx) I changed by hand some minor details e.g. I had to add a VerticalContentAlignment = "Stretch" (and Hor. as well) to the new UserControl because the content wasn't sizing anymore. Some bugs still exist... 1. The Xaml-editor still complains about missing assemblies when I'm refering to the current assembly. 2. Lots of (false) messages about falsly specified attributes (Source of ResourceDictionary and Int32Collection) 3. Most annoying: I have cool rollover effects on some toolbars but as soon as they loose focus because I click in another control the rollover effect don't work anymore (worse: clicking the buttons doesn't work either) Good things: 1. Everything appears to be faster! 2. Cider has more features. 3. More to find out! Question: From the ReadMe that comes with the WinFX SDK (CTP February 2006): Xaml Runtime Parsing Exceptions: We still have a way to go before the design/compilation process for xaml files gets smoother. In our first version, we aren't going to be able to do as much content model and attribute value checking during compilation as we would like to. For hand coding xaml, until you start using a visual designer, it will be painful. To make it better, the XamlPresentation2006.xsd file has been significantly enhanced to give you better xaml editing in the xml editor. You can also choose to turn on Debug/Exceptions/Break when an exception is thrown for exceptions that you get when loading your xaml page. This will prevent .g.cs/.g.vb files from being opened which cause bad side effects. We realize that we need to invest significantly in this area in the future. Though this sound very good I can't find the Debug/Exceptions/Break button anywhere... please help me out with this one. Thanks!
