| | Definitions for the new buzzword lexicon Having been thrown into the deep end, I must become competent in CAB, Smart Client Software Factory, Windows Presentation Foundation and Enterprise Library. I've been going through all of the web broadcasts and tutorials I can find but find that I hear words but am unable to extract meaning from what is being said or written about because familiar words are being used in an unfamiliar fashion. Is there was a dictionary to define the latest meanings? As an incomplete example, what is a provider, block, node. self node, property node or field node? -- Richard Lewis Haggard General: www.Haggard-And-Associates.com Please come visit here for a couple thousand good giggles!: www.haggard-and-associates.com/Humor/humor.htm |

| | Re: Definitions for the new buzzword lexicon I feel for you. What are you familiar with? HTML/CSS? Windows Forms? We need some context of your knowledge and skills to use words that would be familiar to you. Most of terms in your example are WPF terms, and you need a good book to start with. Sams Windows Presentation Foundation Unleashed (Adam Nathan) is excellent. WPF is a great thing, but very very deep and complex. Quite worthy of time investment. But beware the enterprise library. | | Re: Definitions for the new buzzword lexicon I've been doing Windows since 1983 when I was part of the team that did an OEM adaptation of Windows 1 for DEC's Rainbow. Since then, I've kept up to date on the technology involved in developing application and system programs. I'm coming to CAB/WPF/SCSF from C# WinForms which I've been involved with for that last couple of years. I'm OK with HTML/ASP/Java but my CSS is darned thin. -- Richard Lewis Haggard General: www.Haggard-And-Associates.com Please come visit here for a couple thousand good giggles!: www.haggard-and-associates.com/Humor/humor.htm "Radek Cerny" <rcerny@spam.exm.com.au> wrote in message news:e%23nA5iNxHHA.4076@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >I feel for you.
