| | Media Seeking Issue In the current release (June CTP) of WinFX/.NET 3.0, there is a problem with seeking through video while it is paused. This problem has been around for some time. I saw a previous post mentioning the bug, and a reply was given that Microsoft is "investigating implementing this for future builds." To me, this seems like a pretty important feature, and it still has not been implemented. Without it, things like going frame by frame through a video are impossible, not to mention the inability to even have such an extremely simple setup of a MediaElement, and a slider and play/pause button to control it. Are there any updates on this? |

| | Re: Media Seeking Issue If you are referring to seeking in paused state not working at all, you need to set the ScrubbingEnabled flag to true in order to get this feature. There is a _slight_ perf cost of having this functionality, so it is not enabled by default. If you are referring to a different bug, could you provide more details? | | Re: Media Seeking Issue ScrubbingEnabled is a property of the MediaPlayer class, which was decoupled from the MediaElement class. So, I cannot simply set this property. Is the MediaPlayer class no longer used at all? How am I supposed to enable this property for a MediaElement? |

| | Re: Media Seeking Issue So it is. And it works wonderfully! However, it appears to be undocumented (or at least I was unable to find anything). It doesn't even appear in the Visual Studio auto-complete list for some reason, which is why I thought it didn't exist. |

| | Re: Media Seeking Issue Thanks a lot for the feedback! My guess is that had an older version of the WPF Extensions to Visual Studio (this is a relatively new property). In any case, we will make sure the extensions and our docs are updated. Thanks again, Ed "nsteinbaugh@gmail.com" wrote: > So it is. And it works wonderfully!
