| | RE: 3D application windows Windows allows for a "Layered" window. For Vista, you can set "UsesPerPixelOpacity" for gradient alpha blend . I am hopeful, that when Vista ships, this feature will be running in Hardware mode. A WPF application can use this window feature, and since WPF has 3D, I could draw a 3D cube with the window completly transparent. The big issue here again is that 3D must be drawn using hardware to get nice FPS on the animations.
