| | General question about using Avalon... I am about to begin developing a .Net app that will make heavy use of GDI+ to do some CAD-like functionality. It occurred to me that it might be a good idea to write this app using Avalon (though, at this point, I know next to nothing about Avalon). I thought that if I did this, I could learn Avalon, take advantage of its advanced features, and end up with an app that was a huge step ahead of a GDI+ app. Does this thinking make sense? Is it possible to develop for Avalon today in Windows XP if I load up the Winfx beta? If so, I was wondering if someone might point me in the right direction for getting started in learning Avalon. Thanks!! |

| | RE: General question about using Avalon... About "getting started in learning Avalon": We are creating a site about WPF 3D. This site has available now a complete "tutorials serie" about 3D game creation using WPF. It's not a basic "course". But we are beginning a new "tutorials serie" that is very very basic, trying to teach not only WPF but .NET and C#. From the "Hello world!". Only 5 lessons until now but many others soon. All free, no ads, no registration needed. Enjoy at: http://www.dmu.com "craig" wrote: > I am about to begin developing a .Net app that will make heavy use of GDI+ > to do some CAD-like functionality. | | Re: General question about using Avalon... I picked up a copy of Chris Sells' book, "Windows Presentation Foundation." Looks like a great intro to Avalon.
