New XAML project in VS2005

Hey everyone,

I think I'm missing something very basic about the whole XAML thing.
Ive seen the samples, and of course they have the .xaml and the
..xaml.cs files. I can open an existing XAML project just fine, and its
all good. But how do I create my own? I've installed the Windows SDK,
but it's not listed in the New Project list, along with the usual
Windows Application, Console Application, etc.

Thanks for your help, and sorry for posting a question that I suspect
has an obvious answer. I did my research and couldn't find anything,
this is my last resort.

Re: New XAML project in VS2005

Download and apply or re-apply the 'Orcas' CTP, I had the same problem
recently. This should re-install the shortcuts in VS2005.

Orcas :

Vista:

Re: New XAML project in VS2005

Hi,

I have both the Windows Vista Beta 2 build 5472 and the Windows SDK
installed. And I can also compile and run the WPF sample programs.

But when I run the "Orcas" Community Technology Preview - Development Tools
for WinFX, it failed with a message tell me "Please install the WinFX
runtime and restart setup".

So I downloaded "Microsoft Pre-Release Software Microsoft .NET Framework
3.0 - July 2006 CTP", but it could not be installed, too. It just pop up a
message: "You must use "Turn Windows features on or off" in the Control
Panel to install or configure Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0"

In the Control Panel I can sure the .NET Framework 3.0 component has been
checked.

What should I do next to enable the WPF wizards in Visual Studio 2k5?

Thank you,
Wei Xiang

Re: New XAML project in VS2005

Please try again with Orcas June CTP. Be carefull that it will tell you
you should install .NET 3.0 (if it doesnt find it) but it will let you
go on with the installation.
